A total of 5,129 students have failed to secure admission allocations in the second and final phase of the 2025–26 higher secondary admission process, despite applying for seats.

Among them are 321 students who achieved a GPA of 5.00.

The results of the second and final phase were published on the XI Class Admission System website on Monday night.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, disclosed the figures in a summary of the results.

According to the results, 184,469 students applied in the second and final phase. Of them, 179,340 were allocated seats, while 5,129 failed to secure a place. The group includes 321 GPA-5 achievers.

The results also showed that no student expressed interest in enrolling at 12 colleges across the country. In other words, none of the applicants listed those institutions in their preference choices.

Meanwhile, 416 colleges did not receive a single student through the admission process.

Overall, 1,003,288 students have come under the admission process after applying and confirming their choices in the final phase. Of them, 823,948 students were admitted in the first phase, according to the results.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman said around 99% of students who were interested in admission had been allocated seats.

“We have been able to allocate seats to 99% of interested students. Around 1% remain, mainly because they selected too few institutions in their preference list and for various other reasons,” he told Jago News.

Asked how students who failed to secure an allocation would be admitted, he said they could seek admission in colleges where seats remain vacant by appearing in person and submitting the required documents.

“There are several lakh vacant seats in numerous colleges across the country. So there is no reason to fear that these students will be deprived of admission,” he said.
