Unidentified vehicle kills woman on Dhaka-Aricha Highway

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Manikganj.

The accident occurred around noon on Tuesday (October 6) in front of ACI Motors Limited in the Jagir area of SadarUpazila.

The deceased was identified as Sonai Begum,25, daughter of SonaMiah from Jagir area.

According to police, Sonai Begum was standing beside the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at the time. She was struck by a recklessly driven vehicle, on its way to Dhaka; she sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Her body was subsequently recovered and sent to the Manikganj 250-Bed General Hospital.

Md. SelimMatubbar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Golra Highway Police Station, stated that traffic flow on the highway remained normal following the accident. Legal proceedings regarding the incident are currently underway.
