Remittance inflows rose to $513 million in the first five days of October, according to Bangladesh Bank data.
The figure represents a 21.4% increase from the $422 million received during the same period last year. Of the total inflow, $109 million was received on October 5 alone.
Cumulative remittance inflows stood at $9.104 billion from July 1 to October 5 of the current fiscal year (2026-27), compared with $8.008 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
This represents a 13.7% year-on-year growth in remittance inflows, according to the central bank data.
The sustained growth in remittances is expected to provide further support to the country’s foreign exchange reserves and ease pressure on the external sector.
