The parliamentary standing committee on the Religious Affairs Ministry has recommended a policy on electricity use in mosques and rooftop solar power projects at mosques nationwide.
The recommendations came at the committee’s first meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday (October 6), chaired by committee chairman Rafiqul Islam Jamal.
The committee also recommended a policy for government-funded Hajj pilgrims and the quick transfer of doctors and employees who have served at the same Islamic Foundation-run hospital and mission for a long time.
The meeting reviewed the ministry’s 180-day action plan, budget, manpower, achievements and future plans, with senior officials of the ministry and its agencies attending.
