To mark World Teachers' Day 2026, the Inner Wheel Club of Arushi Dhaka, in collaboration with faith Bangladesh and Brighter Life School (BLS), organized a special programme to recognize and celebrate the dedication of special educators of Brighter Life School working with children with special needs.

The global theme for this year's observance was "Standing with Teachers: 60 Years of Protecting the Profession, advancing its Status and Shaping our Futures."

The programme was graced by Ms. Shirin Aktar Chowdhury, Chairman, Inner Wheel District 345, as Chief Guest and Professor Dr. Shaila Sultana, Director, BRAC Institute of Languages, BRAC University, as Special Guest. The event was chaired by Ms. Nazma Masud (Parul), President, Inner Wheel Club of Arushi Dhaka.

The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Nilufer Ahmed Karim, Executive Director (Honorary), faith Bangladesh, and Charter President of Inner Wheel Club of Arushi Dhaka. She highlighted the invaluable contribution of special educators in transforming the lives of children with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and other special needs.

A video presentation showcasing the journey and achievements of Brighter Life School was screened during the programme. The event also featured a special recognition ceremony honoring the school's dedicated educators for their commitment, compassion, and professionalism. A unique feature of the programme was the presentation of handcrafted gifts prepared by students of Brighter Life School.

The gifts consisted of painted clay pots with small plants, created by the students themselves. These meaningful gifts were purchased by the Inner Wheel Club of Arushi Dhaka and presented to teachers and distinguished guests as symbols of appreciation and inclusion.

Speakers emphasized the importance of recognizing teachers, promoting inclusive education, and strengthening support for special educators who play a vital role in empowering children and families. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a renewed commitment to supporting teachers and advancing inclusive education in Bangladesh.
