Metro rail services on the Uttara-Motijheel route were briefly disrupted on Tuesday after a dog entered the track in the Karwan Bazar area of the capital. The incident occurred around 11:52am, prompting authorities to temporarily halt a Motijheel-bound train as a safety measure.
Passengers were informed that train services could be delayed for a few minutes while efforts were made to remove the dog from the track.
A passenger travelling from Mirpur-11 towards Shahbagh said the train later stopped at Farmgate Station and remained there for around 10 minutes before resuming its journey.
Fire Service personnel were called in to safely remove the dog from the metro rail track. Train services resumed after the animal was taken away from the restricted area.
The incident caused a temporary disruption on the Uttara-Motijheel route, but metro rail operations returned to normal afterwards.
It also raised concerns about the security of metro rail tracks and the possibility of animals or other unauthorised objects entering restricted areas.
