Pubali Bank PLC has donated a bus to Comilla Victoria Government College to facilitate safe and convenient transportation for students as part of the bank’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The bus was formally handed over at a ceremony held at the college’s Zia Auditorium. Mohammad Ali, Managing Director of Pubali Bank PLC, attended the event as chief guest, while college Principal Professor Md Abul Basher Bhuiyan presided over the programme.
Professor Md Abdul Majid, vice-principal of the college, and Md Mainul Islam, deputy general manager and head of Pubali Bank’s Comilla region, attended as special guests. Professor Dr Abdul Kuddus delivered the welcome address.
During the ceremony, Mohammad Ali handed over the keys of the bus to Principal Professor Md Abul Basher Bhuiyan.
A tree-planting programme was also held on the college campus, while an electronic booth of Pubali Bank was inaugurated as part of the event.
Speaking at the programme, Mohammad Ali said students are the future of the country and ensuring their safe and comfortable transportation is a shared responsibility.
He said the bank was pleased to provide the bus to Comilla Victoria Government College and would continue undertaking initiatives aimed at supporting education and student welfare.
“Pubali Bank will continue its social responsibility programmes and participate in initiatives in education, healthcare and public welfare to contribute to the country’s sustainable and inclusive development,” he said.
Principal Professor Md Abul Basher Bhuiyan thanked Pubali Bank for the initiative, saying the bus would play an important role in ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for students.
“Pubali Bank PLC’s initiative to facilitate student transportation is highly commendable,” he said. “On behalf of the college, I express my sincere gratitude to the bank authorities. We hope this cooperation for student welfare will continue in the future.”
Gazi Muhammad Golam Sohrab Hasan, secretary of the Teachers’ Council; Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, assistant general manager of Pubali Bank; and senior officials from both the college and the bank were also present at the programme.
