Observer Online Report
Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has sought Telugu superstar Jr NTR’s attention after an AI-generated image falsely depicting the senior police official announcing an arrest circulated on social media.
The incident comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create fake videos and manipulated images of celebrities and public figures.
The controversy began after distorted AI-generated videos featuring actress Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR, based on their popular song ‘Chuttamalle’ from the Telugu film *Devara*, circulated online.
Some fans then created and shared a fake AI-generated image of Commissioner Sajjanar, claiming that a person responsible for the videos had been arrested.
Cyber police took notice of the post. Sharing the manipulated image on social media, Sajjanar clarified that it was entirely AI-generated and not a genuine photograph. He urged people not to share such images without verifying their authenticity.
He also warned that AI-generated images were becoming increasingly realistic, making it essential to question the authenticity of content seen online. Sharing unverified material, he said, could accelerate the spread of misinformation.
Tagging Jr NTR in his post, the commissioner wrote, “I hope you will take note of the misuse of my image by your fans.”
Following the commissioner’s message, the page responsible for the post deleted it and apologised.
Jr NTR has not yet publicly responded to the incident.
