Two killed in brick kiln wall collapse at Hossainpur

HOSSAINPUR, KISHOREGANJ, Oct 9: Two workers were killed and two others injured on Friday when a wall collapsed at a brick kiln in Hossainpur Upazila of the district.

The accident occurred around 11:30 am at Mayer Doa Bricks in Char Pumdi Village of Pumdi Union, while workers were on duty, according to local residents and police.

The victims were identified as Utpal Mia, 20, son of Mohammad Ali, and Golap Mia, 60, son of Safir Uddin. Both were residents of Char Pumdi Village and died on the spot after being trapped beneath the debris.

The injured workers, Annas Mia, son of Lokman Hossain, and Hridoy Mia, son of Hadis Mia, were rescued and taken to Kishoreganj 250-Bed General Hospital. Their conditions were reported to be critical.

Officer-in-Charge of Hossainpur Police Station Rashedul confirmed the incident.
