RANGAMATI, Oct 10: A two-day training programme for field data collectors and supervisors tasked with implementing the government’s Family Card initiative began on Saturday at the conference room of the annex building of the Rangamati Hill District Council (RHDC).
The programme was organised by the Rangamati Sadar Upazila and Rangamati Town Social Services Office under the Ministry of Social Welfare.
RHDC Chairman and Rangamati District BNP President Deepan Talukder attended the opening ceremony as chief guest. RHDC Member and Convener of its Social Services Department Subimal Chakma chaired the event.

Addressing the event, Talukder described the Family Card as an important government initiative aimed at public welfare, saying it would help disadvantaged and low-income families access government benefits and services more easily.
He stressed that the initiative’s success depended on accurate field data collection and urged data collectors and supervisors to conduct door-to-door surveys with diligence and sincerity. He also emphasised the need to ensure that no genuinely poor family was excluded from the programme.
Talukder called on participants to pay close attention during the training sessions and apply what they learned in the field.
A total of 72 participants, including data collectors and supervisors from various unions and the municipality in Rangamati Sadar Upazila and from Naniarchar Upazila, are taking part in the two-day training. Tablets were distributed among the participants following the opening programme.
