Five flights between Bangladesh and Riyadh have been cancelled amid reported Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport, while a US-Bangla Airlines flight bound for the Saudi capital diverted to Muscat before returning to Dhaka.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) said that five flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Saudia and Riyadh Air were cancelled between Saturday and Sunday morning due to the attacks.

A US-Bangla Airlines flight that departed Dhaka for Riyadh on Saturday landed at Muscat International Airport in Oman after the crew assessed the situation at the destination airport. The aircraft subsequently returned to Dhaka.

Meanwhile, a reported missile attack on Riyadh’s international airport late Saturday left at least 12 people dead and 309 injured, according to the report. The casualties reportedly included nationals of Bangladesh, Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Syria and the United States.

All operations at King Khalid International Airport were suspended following the attack.
