Autorickshaw drivers block roads in Mohammadpur

Autorickshaw drivers blocked roads leading towards Basila and Gabtoli in the capital's Mohammadpur area on Sunday, causing severe traffic congestion on surrounding roads.
The drivers took position at the Mohammadpur intersection at around 10:00 AM on October 11 to press for permission to operate their vehicles on designated roads.
An autorickshaw driver voiced on media that their main demand was to be allowed to operate on the roads. He alleged that authorities were impounding their vehicles without valid reasons.
He said vehicles were also impounded when drivers attempted to take U-turns. When they went to collect their vehicles, they were often told to return the following day, but the vehicles were not handed back as promised.
The drivers continued their blockade to press home their demands, disrupting traffic in the area.
