Mymensingh’s Saddam murdered: Protests demand justice

Local residents staged a human chain and a protest march demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the murder of Asaduzzaman Noor Saddam Hossain, 33, a leader of the Swechchhasebak Dal, in the Akua Bhangarpul area of Mymensingh city.

The event took place on Sunday afternoon at the city’s Firoz-Jahangir Chattar, with participation from the victim’s relatives and people from various walks of life. Following the human chain, a protest procession paraded through key roads of the city.

Speakers alleged that last Tuesday, Saddam was lured into a house, where he was stabbed and had his throat slit. They demanded that the perpetrators be swiftly brought to justice and face the death penalty.
