Retired Army Lt Gulshan Ara arrested

Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested retired Army Lieutenant Kazi Gulshan Ara under Anti-Terrorism Act and Cyber Security Act.

She was arrested on Sunday (October 11) night, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Detective Branch chief Shafiqul Islam confirmed.

According to Shafiqul Islam, police have obtained information suggesting Gulshan Ara’s alleged links with the activities of the banned Awami League as part of a purported conspiracy to destabilise the country.

However, authorities have yet to confirm the specific case under which she will be formally shown as arrested.
