The upazila administration sealed a godown in Mirpur, Kushtia, on Monday over allegations of unauthorised product packaging and stamping expiry-related information.
During the drive at Char Mile Bazar, officials seized some expired products, a packaging machine and stamp pads. The godown, owned by Md Robiul Islam, was later sealed and placed under the custody of a local union parishad member.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Afroz Shaheen Khasru said the administration would seek assistance from the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection to verify product quality. The owner has been given time to submit valid documents, failing which the products may be confiscated.
Robiul Islam claimed he had brought the products from a depot in Khulna for local sale and would submit the necessary documents within the deadline.
