Ex-M'sing upazila chairman arrested

Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested Harun-or-Rashid, former chairman of Phulbaria Upazila Parishad and general secretary of the Phulbaria Upazila banned Awami League.

He was arrested around 10:30AM on Tuesday (October 13) from his residence, located next to the Palli Bidyut office in Ward No. 2 of Phulbaria Municipality.

Confirming the arrest, Mohammad Rashedul Hasan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Phulbaria Police Station, stated that Harun had been arrested previously and had spent several months in jail. Later he was released on bail.

He further added that Harun-or-Rashid is a named accused in cases filed under the Explosives Act and for attacks carried out during the anti-discrimination student movement.
