Mother, daughter die after being struck by train

A woman and her eight-year-old daughter were killed after being struck by a train in Ghorashal under Narsingdi district on Thursday evening.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 PM on the railway line adjacent to the Ghorashal Bypass Road.
The deceased were identified as Aklima Akhtar Pakhi (30), wife of Saudi expatriate Rashedul Islam hailing from the Phuldirtek area of Ghorashal, and their eight-year-old daughter, Rafa Moni. The mother and daughter resided in a rented residence in the local area.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Dilip Chandra Sarkar of the Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost confirmed the fatal accident, stating that necessary legal proceedings regarding the incident are currently underway.
