DU Pop Sciences reunion held

The Department of Population Sciences Alumni Association of Dhaka University (DUAAPS) held a day-long reunion at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium on Friday.

DUAAPS President Dr AKM Mizanur Rahman chaired the opening session. Professor Md Mehedi Hasan Khan, a member of the University Grants Commission, attended as the chief guest. Dhaka University Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Abdus Salam and other distinguished guests attended the event.

Professor Abdus Salam said the department’s research could help address problems faced by young and older people. He said the university needed to improve the quality of education and research to become a leading institution in Bangladesh and beyond.

He also urged alumni to support scholarships, research projects and curriculum development to help the university move forward. Professor Mehedi Hasan Khan said teachers, students, the university administration and development partners had all contributed to the department’s progress.
