Amar Ekushey Book Fair to begin on Jan 7

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2027 will begin on January 7 and continue until February 6, according to a decision taken at a meeting with publishers' representatives, Bangla Academy said on Sunday (October 18).

In a notice signed by Bangla Academy Director General Mohammad Azam, the academy said the schedule was finalised unanimously at a meeting held on October 13 at the Shaheed Munier Chowdhury Conference Room of Bangla Academy.

The meeting was chaired by Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury. Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and ministry Secretary Yasmin Begum also attended the meeting.

The month-long fair is organised annually to commemorate the Language Movement martyrs and promote Bangla literature and publishing.
