Madaripur, Oct 18: Madaripur-3 MP Anisur Rahman Khokon Talukder has urged people to keep public institutions clean and treat them as their own properties to help prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
He made the call while addressing a nationwide cleanliness and awareness campaign organised by Kalkini Municipality on Saturday morning.
“Alongside our homes, we must keep social and state institutions clean, treating them as our own. I urge everyone to ensure these places remain habitable and suitable for use,” he said.
Khokon Talukder also urged people to take ownership of the institutions where they receive public services, treating them like their own homes.
He said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was committed to bringing services to people’s doorsteps and standing beside them, adding that the government’s representatives were also determined to support citizens.
However, he stressed that public awareness and cooperation were essential to achieving these goals.
Local BNP leaders, including Kalkini upazila unit President and freedom fighter Md Fazlul Haque Bepari and General Secretary Mahbub Hossain Munshi, attended the programme alongside leaders of the party’s affiliated organisations.
