Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has won the 2026 Onze d’Or award after being voted the best footballer of the 2025-26 season by readers of French magazine Onze Mondial.
Mbappe secured 48.2 per cent of the votes, finishing ahead of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves, who received 11.9 per cent, and winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who collected 10.8 per cent.
The French forward expressed his delight at receiving the recognition, describing it as a reward for his hard work throughout the year and a source of motivation to improve further.
“I'm happy to receive this recognition. It is a reward for the work I have put in throughout the year. It gives me a lot of motivation to improve and keep moving forward,” Mbappe said.
He also highlighted the importance of supporters' votes, saying fans play a significant role in modern football and that entertaining them remains part of a player's responsibility.
Mbappe enjoyed a prolific 2025-26 campaign with Real Madrid, scoring more than 40 goals and finishing as the leading scorer in both La Liga and the Champions League. He also won the Golden Boot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring 10 goals, and became the tournament's all-time leading scorer with 22 goals across three editions.
The Onze d’Or is awarded through a vote by readers of Onze Mondial. This is Mbappe's first win of the award.
