The Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has published the list of students awarded scholarships based on their performance in the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.

The board released the list on Monday (October 19), outlining the eligibility requirements and financial benefits for scholarship recipients.

According to the published conditions, students must collect their scholarship funds through the educational institution in which they are enrolled for further studies. They must submit a certificate from the head of their previous institution confirming the school from which they appeared for and passed the SSC examinations.

Scholarships will be awarded subject to students’ good conduct, regular attendance and satisfactory academic progress. Students who fail to enrol in an approved educational institution for higher studies will not be eligible for the benefits.

The board stated that the number of scholarships, rates and duration are subject to change or cancellation by the government, if necessary.

Monthly Stipends and Annual Grants

Under the announced provisions, scholarship recipients will receive monthly stipends and annual financial assistance for purchasing books and educational equipment.

Talent pool scholarship: Tk 600 per month, plus Tk 900 annually for books and equipment.

General scholarship: Tk 350 per month, plus Tk 450 annually for books and equipment.

Tuition-Free Education Mandatory

All scholarship recipients will be entitled to study without paying tuition fees at government-approved educational institutions.

Approved institutions will not be permitted to charge monthly tuition fees to scholarship recipients. Disciplinary action may be taken against the head of any institution found violating this provision.

The board also clarified that the scholarships will be applicable only at educational institutions recognised by the relevant authorities in Bangladesh. Students enrolled in unapproved institutions will not be eligible for the benefits, and their period of study there will be treated as a break in studies under the applicable rules.

The publication of the scholarship list marks an important step in providing financial support to meritorious SSC graduates as they move on to higher levels of education.
