Jaintiapur to face 9-hour power outage Thursday

Several areas in Jaintiapur, Sylhet, will experience a nine-hour power outage on Thursday due to emergency maintenance, repairs and road development work.

The power supply will remain suspended from 8am to 5pm on October 22, according to a notice issued by the Power Development Board (PDB), Jaintiapur, on Wednesday.

The outage will affect the Jaflong 11kV Tamabil, Changil and Jaflong feeders under the Jaintiapur substation.

Jaintiapur Residential Engineer Shahedur Rahman said the suspension was necessary to facilitate road development work.

The PDB authorities said electricity supply would be restored as soon as possible after the maintenance and development work is completed.

The authorities also apologised to consumers for the temporary inconvenience.
