Land minister shifted to PG Hospital from RMCH

Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has been transferred from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) to PG Hospital in Dhaka for advanced treatment after his haemoglobin levels reportedly dropped to a dangerously low level.
He was flown to Dhaka on a US-Bangla Airlines flight that departed Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi at 8:45AM on Thursday. Upon arrival, he was to be admitted to PG Hospital, where doctors would oversee his treatment.
Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, a member of parliament for the Paba-Mohanpur (Rajshahi-3) constituency, accompanied the minister from RMCH towards the airport, leaving the hospital at around 7:30AM.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, Milon said Minu had travelled to Singapore recently for medical treatment. He claimed that side effects from medication prescribed there had caused the minister’s haemoglobin levels to fall sharply, requiring him to receive several bags of blood.
Milon also said the minister had attended a visit by the prime minister to Rajshahi two days earlier despite feeling unwell, placing additional physical strain on him.
The decision to transfer Minu to Dhaka was made on the advice of specialist doctors in Rajshahi, he added.
Nazmul Haque Diken, the minister’s assistant private secretary, said Minu suddenly fell ill at around 10am on Wednesday and was admitted to RMCH. He received treatment in a hospital cabin throughout the day, including blood transfusions to address his anaemia.
Diken said the minister was transferred to PG Hospital for more advanced medical care and would continue his treatment there.
