The blossoming of white catkin flowers (Kashful) along riverbanks, roadsides, and open fields across Narail district has created a scenic autumn landscape, drawing large crowds of nature enthusiasts and local residents.
The open sandfield in the Mahishkhola area of Narail town has emerged as a central attraction, where visitors of all ages gather daily—particularly during the late afternoon—to view the blooms and take photographs.
Local visitors noted that the proximity of the Mahishkhola field to the main town provides a convenient retreat from daily urban routines. Many brought family members and friends to spend leisure time outdoors amidst the seasonal scenery.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the catkin plant holds practical value in rural livelihoods across the region. Local residents use the plant stems to manufacture brooms, baskets, mats, thatched roofs, betel leaf vineyard fences, and traditional agricultural headgear (mathal).
Local community members emphasized the importance of preserving the natural site, urging visitors to maintain cleanliness and prevent damage to the flower fields as foot traffic continues to rise throughout the autumn season.
