The body of Sahed Ahmed Ashiq, 35, who was killed in a Houthi missile attack in Saudi Arabia, arrived at his village home in Bogra on Friday.
Heartbreaking scenes unfolded as the vehicle carrying his body reached Madla village under Shajahanpur upazila at 2:30 PM, with family members and relatives breaking into tears.
Sahed's wife, Kakoli Begum, and their two children accompanied the body from Dhaka to the village. Family sources said he will be buried at the local graveyard following religious rituals.
According to family members, Sahed arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh around 5:00 PM local time on October 10. After landing, he last spoke to his wife over the phone from Terminal 3. Moments later, a missile struck the terminal, killing Sahed and several others on the spot.
Sahed's cousin Masum Rana said Sahed had spoken with his wife right after landing at the airport, but the missile attack destroyed everything shortly after.
Family sources added that Sahed's father, Rafiqul Islam, has been living in Saudi Arabia for a long time. His mother, Shahera Begum, was also in Saudi Arabia performing Umrah at the time of the attack, but she returned home four days ago following the tragic news.
