LAXMIPUR, Oct 23: When the day's work is done and it is time to return home, the chirping of birds lifts the spirit. As noon passes and afternoon sets in, birds arrive in flocks and perch in tree after tree. The whole area resounds with the twittering of birds. Such a captivating environment is created every day in the government office area of Laxmipur.

In particular, the movement of birds can be observed in the trees around the District Commissioner's Office, the District Judge's Court, the Superintendent of Police's Office and the Power Development Board located in the Jhumur area of the Dhaka-Laxmipur highway. They also roam on nearby electricity poles and other structures.

Administrative officials are applauding their presence. Initiatives are being taken to protect the birds. Already, more than a hundred bird nests have been installed in various trees inside the District Commissioner's Office compound. These are being increased gradually so that the birds can sleep undisturbed. According to District Administration sources, such initiatives will also be taken in other places in the town where birds roam. Local people are also applauding such initiatives by the administration.

Passers-by said that walking along this road in the afternoon brings a sense of peace through the chirping of birds. Thousands of birds fly in and sit in the nearby trees. This creates a different kind of environment.
Several officers and employees of the District Commissioner's Office said that the movement of birds creates extraordinary moments. The chirping of birds makes the whole area resound. These birds come especially during the winter. Every afternoon, thousands of birds fill the air with their calls. They sit in all the trees here and on the roadside electricity poles and wires. They chirp before dusk and remain quiet after dark. These are migratory birds, coming from Siberia. Thanks to our jobs, we enjoy this environment every day.

Additional District Commissioner (General) Samrat Khisa said that because the birds have no shelters, they sleep on tree branches. To protect birds and nature, some nests have been hung at the initiative of the District Commissioner sir. It is hoped that the birds will be able to sleep well in these nests. An opportunity for safe shelter will be created for them. This initiative of ours is for the protection of birds, nature and the environment. If we all come forward, our nature will remain protected.
