Jubo League leader dies in Jail

A former president of Dhunat municipality Jubo League, Sohorab Hossain, 44, died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital after falling ill in Bogura District Jail on Friday (October 23).

Bogura Jail Superintendent Asaduzzaman Rahman confirmed the death, saying Hossain suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

Hossain, son of the late Raham Ali Haji of Sadarpara village in Dhunat municipality, had been in custody for the past three to four months in multiple cases, including one involving explosives.

His elder brother, Shahidul Islam, said prison authorities informed the family that Hossain had died of a heart attack. His body was handed over to the family after legal procedures, and he was buried at Jannatul Ferdous Cemetery in Char Dhunat after Asr prayers on Friday.
