The US Embassy in Dhaka has warned that a person’s US visa may be revoked following an arrest. The person could also face deportation and become ineligible for future US visas.
The warning was issued in a post on the embassy’s verified Facebook page on Saturday, October 24.
The embassy cautioned visa holders about the potential immigration consequences of an arrest, noting that holding a valid visa does not guarantee entry into or continued stay in the United States.
In an earlier Facebook post, the embassy explained that B1/B2 visitor visas can be used for tourism, shopping, visiting friends and relatives, business meetings and attending conferences. However, these visas do not permit regular employment or unauthorised work in the United States.
