Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has said that child abuse and unethical conduct in educational institutions are unacceptable, calling for proper investigations and exemplary punishment for those found guilty.
In a joint statement issued on Saturday (October 24), the organisation's Ameer Allama Muhibbullah Babunagari and Secretary General Allama Sajedur Rahman also said that taking the law into one's own hands was unacceptable.
They stressed that children's safety and mental well-being must be prioritised in schools and madrasas, urging authorities to adopt strict policies and ensure continuous CCTV monitoring.
The leaders also highlighted the need for student protection committees, monitoring cells and hotlines to prevent abuse and ensure complaints are investigated promptly.
