Anisul calls for inclusive politics, no party exclusion

Chairman of a faction of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) Anisul Islam Mahmud has called for an inclusive political environment, saying no political party should be excluded from the democratic process.

He said political stability was essential amid economic challenges, rising prices and concerns over law and order, urging the government to address the economic crisis, control the prices of essential commodities and ensure public safety.

“Given the current situation in the country, it is imperative to address the economic crisis, improve the law and order situation, control the prices of essential commodities and ensure public safety,” he said at a discussion marking Upazila Day on Friday.

Anisul, a former minister, made the remarks at the party’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Saturday morning, according to a JaPa press release.

Referring to past attempts to exclude Jamaat from politics, he said the country had witnessed the consequences of such an approach.

“There was a time when an attempt was made to conduct politics by excluding Jamaat; the nation has witnessed the consequences of that.

Therefore, there is no scope for conducting politics by excluding anyone,” he said.

“It is not for any political party to decide who gets to participate in politics and who does not�"that is for the people to decide,” he added.
