Four banned BCL members arrested in Sirajganj

Police arrested four members of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) during an early morning raid at Vengri in Ramkrishnapur union under Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday (October 25).

The detainees were identified as Osman Goni, 22; Swadhin, 22; Sumon Miah, 21; and Masum Ahmed, 22.

Solonga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aslam Ali stated that police launched the drive around 6:00AM on Saturday upon receiving secret information that BCL activists were gathering with four microbuses in the Vengri area to prepare a political rally.

During the raid, law enforcers apprehended the four individuals from the scene.

The OC added that a case was filed against the detainees under the Anti-Terrorism Act, and they were produced before a court on Saturday afternoon, which ordered them to be sent to judicial custody.
