Observer Online Report

Ramadan is expected to begin on February 8, 2027, while Eid-ul-Fitr may fall on March 10, according to astronomical calculations, although the final dates will depend on moon sighting.

Kazakhstan’s Muslim Religious Administration has announced the tentative dates for major Islamic observances in 2027, including Ramadan, Laylat al-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr, according to the country’s state news agency Kazinform.

According to the proposed Islamic calendar, Ramadan will begin on February 8, with Laylat al-Qadr, also known as Shab-e-Qadr, expected to be observed on the night of March 5.

Eid-ul-Fitr is scheduled for March 9 in Kazakhstan’s religious calendar. However, astronomical calculations cited by Gulf News suggest that the festival may fall on March 10, depending on the sighting of the new moon.

Eid-ul-Adha is expected to be observed from May 16 to 18, while the Day of Arafah will fall on May 15.

Other significant dates on the Islamic calendar include Shab-e-Meraj on the night of January 4–5 and Shab-e-Barat on the night of January 22–23. Ashura is expected to fall on June 15, while Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), is expected to be observed on August 14–15.

The calendar also lists another date for Shab-e-Meraj on December 24–25.

The religious administration said the dates of Islamic observances may vary by a day depending on the sighting of the new moon.

According to Gulf News, the Ramadan crescent is expected to be searched for on the evening of February 7, 2027. If the moon is sighted, the first Tarawih prayers will be held that evening, followed by the first day of fasting on February 8.

In 2026, Ramadan began on February 19, and Eid-ul-Fitr was observed on March 20.
