Legendary actor, producer, and heroic freedom fighter Sohel Rana expressed deep outrage on Monday (October 26) over the reported obstruction of the burial of fellow freedom fighter Manik Pashari in Pirojpur.

Manik Pashari, who was a plaintiff in a crime against humanity case against the late Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, died recently and was buried late Saturday (October 25) night—nearly 17 hours after his demise—in a grave dug by female members of his family following intense local tensions.

In a social media post on Monday afternoon, Sohel Rana condemned the incident, noting that anti-liberation forces blocked the burial of a 1971 war hero, forcing his daughter to dig her father's grave by hurricane lamp after anti-liberation elements filled the initial grave site with soil.

"Forces supporting the Liberation War are reportedly running the government, yet no visible actions are apparent," Sohel Rana wrote, demanding a clear explanation and strict action from authorities against those involved.

Reflecting on the current state of affairs, the veteran actor stated, "Freedom fighters are at the end of their lives, but it seems we have failed to pass the spark of the Liberation War to the next generation; otherwise, neither protest nor resistance is visible."

He added that such news causes immense pain to living freedom fighters before they depart the world, calling upon pro-liberation forces to unite and demanding that those responsible should face no forgiveness this time.
