42-year-old female garment worker found hanging

Police recovered the hanging body of a 42-year-old woman from a residence in the capital's Vatara area on Sunday (October 25) night.

The deceased was identified as Sabina Yasmin, a garment factory worker by profession.

Vatara Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Bilkis Akter stated that officers broke open the door of a house in the High School Borobari area around 11:00PM on Sunday upon receiving news of the incident. The body was subsequently retrieved and sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue on Monday (October 26) morning for an autopsy following legal procedures.

Citing family members, SI Bilkis Akter added that Sabina reportedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan inside her room following a domestic dispute.

An unnatural death case is being filed in connection with the incident.
