Washing factory in Tongi fined over illegal gas connections

Titas Gas Authority disconnected a washing factory in Tongi of Gazipur city by conducting an operation against illegal gas connection. Denmark fashion washing factory has been fined Tk. 1 lakh in this incident.

According to relevant sources, a raid was conducted after receiving information about the illegal use of gas in a washing factory in Himardighi area. At that time, when the illegal gas connection was detected in the Denimark Fashion washing factory, it was isolated. Besides, the factory was fined Tk. 1 lakh.

Officials of Titas Gas Authority said that due to illegal gas connection, the government loses revenue and many problems arise in the gas distribution system. To prevent such irregularities, the process of identifying and disconnecting illegal connections is continuing.

Titas Gas Tongi region manager Mejba-ur-Rahman along with related officers and employees were present in the operation.
