The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) has taken up a plan to send one lakh skilled members abroad within this year, said the force’s Director General Major General Abdul Motalib Sazzad Mahmud.

Clearance for overseas employment will be granted after evaluating country-specific pay structures, working environments, and management standards, the DG added while responding to queries from reporters at the Ansar and VDP Academy in Safipur, Gazipur, on Monday (October 26) afternoon.

Major General Sazzad Mahmud stated that an initiative has been launched to build skilled manpower targeting the country's nearly 60 lakh Ansar members. Discussions are ongoing to sign agreements with various countries to expand foreign employment opportunities, and trained members will be dispatched according to the requirements of the recruiting nations.

He further noted that manpower export efforts will be carried out by assessing members' skill sets based on the job types and demands specified by foreign ambassadors.

Earlier, the Director General welcomed ambassadors from four countries, including Singapore, the Maldives, and Morocco, upon their arrival at the Safipur Ansar and VDP Academy. During the visit, the foreign envoys inspected the technical and vocational skills of the Ansar members on site.

Senior officials and members of the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP were present on the occasion.
