Four banned Chhatra League activists arrested

Police have arrested four activists of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League over allegations of attempting to create instability in Mahadebpur upazila of Naogaon.

They were arrested during a special drive on Monday night from Uttargram Union in Mahadebpur. The arrestees are Md Rokonuzzaman alias Sohag, 25, ward president of Chhatra League in the union; Pierul Islam Musa, 19; Sohel Hossain, 21; and Mahmud Raihan, 30.

All four are residents of the Chakgora area of Mahadebpur upazila.

Police Superintendent Tarikul Islam confirmed the arrests in a press release on Tuesday morning, adding that legal action was being taken in this regard.
