A Dhaka court on Tuesday imposed a travel ban on two candidates recommended for the administration and foreign affairs cadres in the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination over allegations of using forged certificates.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Shahjahan Kabir passed the order following separate applications filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The candidates are Sanjay Das of Hazaribagh, Dhaka, and Abu Saleh Mohammad Musa of Khaliajuri, Netrokona.
ACC Public Relations Officer Aktarul Islam confirmed the development.
According to the ACC applications, the two allegedly used forged certificates to establish their eligibility for government jobs and mislead the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC). They allegedly drew government salaries and allowances after joining their respective posts, causing financial losses to the state.
The cases are under investigation. The ACC sought the travel ban, citing information that the accused might leave the country to evade the investigation.
