Japan to build seaport, airport terminal in Dhaka

Takaichi said Bangladesh had significant potential as a bridge between Southeast Asia and South Asia, making the country strategically important to Japan’s economy.

Rahman said his government wanted to turn the longstanding friendship between the two countries into a stronger driver of economic growth and shared prosperity.

“Our goal is clear—to transform the friendship between our two countries into a powerful engine of economic opportunity and shared prosperity,” he said.

The proposed infrastructure projects and economic partnership initiative are expected to form key pillars of the expanding Bangladesh-Japan relationship.
