Arms factory busted in Noakhali

NOAKHALI, Oct 29: Police arrested a suspected arms maker and seized a locally made gun and weapon-manufacturing equipment during a raid on a suspected arms workshop in Sonaimuri Upazila of the district on Wednesday at about 7:30 pm, the District Detective Branch (DB) of Police said.

The suspect, Md Saiful Islam, 30, also known as Shaker Hossain, was arrested at a room in Akram Uddin Haji Bari in Dewti Union. Police seized a single-barrel gun, firearm parts, three pairs of pliers, a grinding machine, a file and eight pieces of steel. 

Additional Superintendent of Police Abu Tayyeb Md Arif Hossain said authorities were preparing to file a case against the suspect under the Arms Act with Sonaimuri Police Station.
