October is observed worldwide as Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote early detection and encourage timely treatment.
The campaign highlights the importance of regular breast health checks, recognising warning signs and improving access to screening and medical care. It also aims to support patients and survivors and reduce the stigma surrounding the disease.
This year's theme is “Every Story Is Unique, Every Journey Matters.”
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide in 2024, while 694,000 died from the disease.
