Crude bombs hit Dhanmondi, 4 held

The incident occurred around 12:30 PM near the Kalabagan bus stand area on Mirpur Road, where around 50 masked and helmeted activists marched with banners welcoming Sheikh Hasina's announcement to return home.

Protesters set off crude bombs at multiple points on the road, including near the residence of International Crimes Tribunal-2 Judge Monjurul Basid.

Kalabagan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Ashik said one bomb exploded near the footover bridge while three unexploded ones were found, leading to the initial detention of two people, including a woman. Seven more bombs were recovered later based on their information.

Dhanmondi Police Station OC Muhammad Imdadul Islam Toyeb confirmed another explosion in front of a hotel near the judge's residence, where officers detained two more suspects and recovered seven crude bombs that were subsequently defused.

Meanwhile, Ramna Police Station officers arrested two youths, Zahidul Islam Onik and Shihab Hossain Omi, from a home in Moghbazar's Chairman Gali over a separate crude bomb blast near Ramna Shopping Complex on October 23, recovering four more cocktails from their possession.
