Worker protests disrupt traffic in four areas

Garment workers staged road blockades in several areas of Dhaka's Mirpur on Saturday, disrupting traffic movement in parts of the neighbourhood.

The situation affected Mirpur-10, Mirpur-11, Mirpur-12 and Prashika Mor, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The Mirpur Traffic Division said the workers' protests were causing traffic disruptions in the affected areas. Police personnel were deployed to bring the situation under control.

The traffic division urged motorists and commuters travelling through the areas to allow extra time for their journeys and exercise caution.

Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Model Police Station Md Hafiz said, police were in talks with the workers to restore normal traffic movement.
