One nabbed with 40 kg hemp in Feni

FENI, Oct 31: Special Response Battalion (RAB)-7, Chattogram, has arrested a 40-year-old man and seized 40 kilograms of hemp during a raid on a house in Feni.

The operation was conducted on Friday afternoon at a house in North Adharmanik Village of Radhanagar Union under Chhagalnaiya Upazila. The seized hemp is estimated to be worth about Tk 4 lakh.

In a press release issued on Friday night, the SRB-7 said an operational team raided the house based on confidential information. During a search, officers recovered the hemp from a stairwell adjacent to the rooftop.

The suspect was identified as Anwar Hossain, 40, who was arrested at the scene. Legal proceedings concerning the suspect and the seized drugs are underway, SRB said.
