E-rickshaw registration fee set at Tk8,000

The government has introduced new regulations for battery-powered e-rickshaws operating in 13 city corporation areas across the country, setting the registration fee at Tk8,000 and limiting their operational lifespan to 12 years.

Local Government State Minister Mir Shahe Alam disclosed the new rules on Sunday.

Under the regulations, e-rickshaw owners will have to pay Tk4,000 to renew their registration one year after the initial registration.
