The government begins registering battery-run three-wheeled e-rickshaws in 13 city corporations across the country on Monday (November 2), bringing the vehicles under a legal regulatory framework.
The initiative will initially focus on registering the vehicles, with driving licences for their operators to be introduced in phases later.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives State Minister Mir Shahe Alam announced the decision on Sunday (November 1) on the proposed regulations governing the operation of slow-moving battery-run autorickshaws in city corporation areas.
