Law enforcement agencies took extensive security measures across Mirpur in the capital on Monday morning, November 2, deploying hundreds of police personnel along with water cannons and Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) to curb ongoing garment worker demonstrations.
Following two consecutive days of violent clashes and road blockades in the area, groups of readymade garment (RMG) workers gathered at the Mirpur-10 roundabout on Monday morning, attempting to stage a protest march.
Security forces positioned at the scene acted swiftly to disperse the gathering before the march could gain momentum, successfully bringing the situation under control.
Police personnel were seen maintaining a vigilant posture across Mirpur-10 and adjoining intersections throughout the morning to prevent any recurrence of chaos.
Senior police officials confirmed that security forces are closely monitoring the area and remain fully prepared to prevent any untoward incidents, illegal blockades, or destruction of public property.
While traffic movement around the main intersections has been kept operational, police teams continue to patrol the zone to maintain law and order across the industrial and commercial hub.
