BNP brings out joyous procession in Mirpur-10

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) brought out a large joyous procession in the capital's Mirpur-10 on Monday afternoon for naming Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton as convenor of Dhaka north city unit BNP.

The party has earlier approved a two-member partial convening committee for its Dhaka North city unit, naming Milton, also Dhaka North City Corporation Administrator, as convener and lawmaker SM Jahangir Hossain as member secretary.

The appointments came more than a month after the party dissolved the previous 51-member convening committee of the unit.

A full convening committee will be formed within the next two weeks.

Milton is a vice-president of the Jubo Dal central committee. He previously served as member secretary of Dhaka North city Jubo Dal and was the BNP candidate for Dhaka-15 in the 13th parliamentary election.
