Motorcyclist killed in bus race in Jatrabari

A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding bus during a reckless race between two buses in Rayerbagh, Jatrabari, on Monday.

The deceased, Amirul Islam, 39, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with critical injuries around 2pm. Doctors declared him dead at around 3:30 PM.

Eyewitness Md Imran Fakir said two buses were racing near the Rayerbagh footbridge when one hit the motorcycle, throwing its rider onto the road and causing severe head injuries.

Imran and some locals rescued him and took him to the hospital.

DMCH Police Camp Inspector Md Habibur Rahman confirmed the death, saying the body was kept at the hospital morgue and police were informed.
